SUMMARY

CLUE (the Conversion of Land Use and its Effects) is a framework that models land use change from empirical relations between land use and driving factors and dynamic land use competition. CLUE-S is the most-used version of CLUE model designed for regional analysis, which models land use as one homogenous status of each cell.

CLUE-S requires only one LULC raster map as input.

INPUT - REQUIRED [Spatial] LULC raster [Non-spatial] Demand for each year, conversion sequence, conversion elasticity
INPUT - OPTIONAL [Spatial] Spatial factors, area restrictions
OUTPUT Time series of LULC rasters
HOW ARE SCENARIOS DECIDED?

Growth: external model, expert judgement, stakeholder vision

Location: Affected by user-defined spatial policies, factors (suitability are calculated by logistic regression), conversion elasticity, and conversion sequence

COST Free
FORM Standalone desktop application (32 bit compatible)
CAN I ALTER THE MODEL? No

REQUIRE GIS TOOL TO RUN THE MODEL? No. However GIS tools are needed for pre-processing
