SUMMARY

Metronamica is a comprehensive, data-driven model designed for urban/regional planning. The model extrapolates historical land use change to simulate baseline scenario of future land use. After that, planners can experiment with scenarios, policy options and external influences such as spatial zoning plans, expansion of the road network or population growth scenarios, and assess the effect compared to the baseline scenario. This enables planners to gain insights in possible future land use developments and the influence of alternative policy measures. The model can take up to 32 LULC classes.
